Congratulations to Girton College Bye-Fellow, Dr Jonathan Fuld, who has recently been appointed to National Clinical Director for respiratory diseases.
He will join a new cohort of multidisciplinary National Clinical Directors (NCDs) at NHS England. The role is to provide senior clinical leadership, advice, input and support across the NHS, for conditions and services specialising in respiratory diseases, in line with the NHS Long Term Plan.
Dr Jonathan Fuld commented: “I feel very fortunate to have this opportunity to work with teams around England to improve outcomes for people living with respiratory diseases.”
Jonathan is a Consultant Respiratory Physician at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and researcher at the Victor Phillip Dahdaleh Heart and Lung Research Institute, University of Cambridge. His clinical practice centres around acute respiratory medicine, care for people with advanced COPD and cardiopulmonary exercise testing.
He has a clinical and research interest in exercise physiology, particularly in breathing pattern disorder as a cause of breathlessness. He has a research programme aligned to lived experience as well as access to services for those with chronic lung disease.
The UPTURN programme grant seeks to increase the uptake of pulmonary rehabilitation while lessening known health inequalities.
