On Saturday 9 July, we welcomed over 250 donors and supporters back to the College to celebrate the successful completion of 'A Great Campaign'.
This event was a lovely occasion in which we recognised and reflected on the generosity of our supporters past and present. The day will began at 10am with an array of fascinating talks, tours, and discussions as well as art activities and musical performances. Highlights included:
* Net Zero and Beyond with Girton alumnae Professor Dame Ann Dowling OM FRS FRENG and Dr Alison Monaghan MBE FGS CGEOL and Girton Fellows Dr Shaun Fitzgerald OBE FRENG and Dr Stuart Scott.
* Women in Sport-The Revolution is Underway with Girtonians Dawn Airey, Dr Alistair Brownlee MBE, Eleanor Oldroyd and Professor Dame Sarah Springman DBE FRENG.
* An In Conversation with the College Visitor, Lady Hale, discussing her recently published autobiography ‘Spider Woman’.
* Celebratory Concert with Joanna Harries (mezzo-soprano), Kevin Loh (guitar) and Dr Martin Ennis (piano)
And many more!
In the evening we all came together for drinks, dinner, and dancing with entertainment from comedian Dr Phil Hammond, Jazz by The Tim Boniface Band ft. Irene Serra, and James Pearson, pianist extraordinaire and Artistic Director of Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club in Soho. We ended the evening with Cambridge’s best loved rootsy, blues and R’n’B band, Mystery Train.
